Account & Authentication Data. When you sign up, we collect your email address and basic authentication credentials to create and manage your account.

Content You Provide. When you use the Service to generate memes, we process the text, images, or prompts you submit in order to produce your meme output. Generated results may be temporarily or persistently stored to allow you to view, download, or share your creations, depending on your account tier.

Subscription & Billing Data. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled through Stripe. Meme Works does not receive or store your full card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment credentials — that information is held directly by Stripe under its own security and privacy practices.

Usage Information. We collect information about how you interact with the Service, such as number of memes generated, feature usage, and general activity patterns, to help us maintain and improve the product.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

• Operate, maintain, and secure the Service
• Authenticate users and manage accounts and sessions
• Generate meme content based on your input
• Process subscription payments and manage billing tiers
• Enforce usage limits associated with free and paid plans
• Send important account or service-related communications
• Understand usage trends to improve features and performance

4. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:

• Service providers that we rely on to operate the Service. These include providers of application hosting, account authentication, database storage, AI text processing (used to generate meme captions from the content you submit), meme image rendering, transactional email delivery (used to send account and billing notices, such as a failed payment), usage analytics, and error monitoring. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function, and is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.
• Stripe, solely to process subscription payments
• Law enforcement or regulators, only where legally required
• A successor entity, in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to affected users

We do not share your content or account data with third parties for advertising purposes. Our analytics do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites, and our error monitoring is configured to exclude the text you submit.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. Generated content may persist until you delete it or close your account. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where longer retention is required for legal or accounting purposes.
